San Francisco fashion designer Rebecca Beeson looked to PERSONE's expertise when she wanted to market her clothing online. We developed the company's first web site, and maintained it for several seasons, offering seasonal color and product information as well as an overview of her collections and company basics.
Concurrently, there was also a need to develop offline marketing materials such as flyers, a printed press kit, and promotional imagery designed to increase the line's visibility at New York's Coterie and other fashion industry tradeshows as well as offering the public their first interface with the Rebecca Beeson line.
Working with Rebecca Beeson and her team, we came up with several animated concepts for the site. Initially, there wasn't much brand imagery, so we played extensively with the many bright colors that are signatures of her line. We supplemented the color and shape based layouts with self-constructed photography assets and planned a longer term branding strategy.
Rebecca approached me for help in creating a multi-page look book to show her line and send to stores and buyers, and as a take-away at tradeshows. We responded by recommending a photographer and initiating concept development for the photography and art direction of the book. Together with the photographer we came up with three distinct lighting and photo styles to reflect the unique elements of Rebecca Beeson's sportswear, daytime, and evening looks.
Using the assets collected from this photo shoot, PERSONE set about creating look book designs for one of her Spring lines. We used the photography throughout the following seasons in various marketing efforts including postcard flyers for two Coterie tradeshows in New York City.
The following seasons we used assets from a different photo shoot from a fashion show that Rebecca Beeson developed as a next-generation look book. Adapting these images and using them on the web site required careful selection of the most dynamic and appropriate images to be highlighted in the site's homepage animation. We then abstracted the images, taking both a moody close-up and a more distanced, full-color shot showing the full look. We added motion and also developed a custom audio soundtrack to accompany the site load and homepage animation.
Our work with Rebecca Beeson left her with a press kit, templates for print and traditional offline artwork as well as a web site template and design that has been updated with new content used for several collections following our initial implementation. We helped her company establish their first online presence and develop their web site as a marketing and sales tool for her clothing brand.
Here are some samples from our website work with Rebecca Beeson. The first comps show stills from an animated intro graphic, the rest from the website. There are Fall and Spring designs shown also.
